Red Planet Capital Partners was a venture capital fund formed as a public-private partnership between Silicon Valley professional venture capital investors and NASA. Its purpose was to discover innovative new technologies being developed in the private sector that could have a secondary application in the the space program and aviation.
The Fund especially focused on four major areas: information technology and communications; industrial innovation; biomedical; and clean technology.
In addition to financial support, the team brought technical and managerial experience to assist young companies in their growth.
The Fund ceased making investments in 2007.
